This is my story of visiting The Royal Devon Gynaecology department which started in 2022
From the moment I entered the hospital every member of staff was extremely polite and helpful
They directed and explained where you should be in the department which is extremely useful when you haven’t visited before
I sat in the department and was then greeted by a nurse who took me to a room to meet my gynaecologist, his name was James
He explained everything in depth and I knew in an instant that I was in very capable professional environment
James goes through every detail discussing your health and what procedures that’s in the plan ahead for you
If you don’t understand he makes sure you do!
I was put at ease with this very humble surgeon and despite the concerns I had I new that James would find a conclusion
I’ve had ultrasound scans, CT scans which were professional done at the nightingale hospital again outstanding on all aspects.
This time I had a Hysteroscopy and this was by James, my gynaecologist
This was not the most pleasant but I was made comfortable and I was cared for throughout the whole process by the team of nurses who were present, constantly asking if I was ok
James was an extremely caring and dignified person and a professional throughout
I felt I have to share this story for anyone else visiting gynaecology department to reassure you that you will be looked after
Most of all thank you so much for everything from the department who cared for me.
I do think sometimes there are special places with wonderful people in it and I know that The Royal Devon Wonford Gynaecologist department is absolutely outstanding and I hope this reaches them to say heart warming thank you and to give others peace of mind.
"Every member of staff was extremely polite and helpful"
