I would love to feedback on a member of staff from the Glasgow Dental Hospital. Her name is Fiona (Dental Therapist).
My daughter has severe anxiety and even more so with anything medical-related. She was born very premature and ended up with PTSD due to the trauma of having so many medical things done in her younger years.
She was referred to the Glasgow Dental Hospital and she was assigned to Fiona a couple of years ago. From the moment we met Fiona, I just knew my daughter would be at ease with her. She was so calm and kind and exactly what my daughter needed.
Over many, many months of Fiona’s time and patience, they built up a relationship. My daughter gained Fiona's trust and then started to allow Fiona to do more and more at each appointment. The end goal was for my daughter to be able to get teeth out and braces.
Unfortunately, because my daughter turned 16 she would be discharged from the Glasgow dental hospital which I was very disappointed with as Fiona has spent a long time with her. She was exactly the kind of dental therapist my daughter needed. Someone calm and patient and explaining everything she was doing.
Down to all of Fiona’s hard work, I am delighted to say that my daughter finally managed to get her braces fitted recently. This is massive for her and I believe it was down to Fiona’s kindness.
I would also like to thank the dental nurses who worked alongside Fiona as they were all so lovely and some even remembered my daughter. Fiona is an absolute credit to the dental hospital and anyone with nervous young people they should ask for Fiona. She is one in a million and thanks to her my daughter will one day have a beautiful smile. 😊
"Fantastic care from a absolute gem of a lady"
