Today I attended the Nuclear Medicine ward for a VQ scan. As a pregnant women, with previously not having a great experience over the weekend I instantly felt really nervous about coming in for the scan.
I was greeted by the lovely reception staff and was taken away for a consultation chat before the procedure by Christopher. Christopher explained everything thoroughly and made sure I was alright and made me feel very at ease.
I was then took to the scan room by Louise, who was so lovely, again explained everything in depth for me, made me feel very relaxed and reassured and played some lovely music while I was being scanned.
From a not so good experience to now having a great experience has put my faith back in humanity and it’s nice to feel like your not a number and someone actually cares.
I would also like to than Dr Ahmed, what an exceptional consultant. After being in A&E on Friday and seeing 3 doctors and spending over 10 hours to not know what is actually going on and being told one thing after another, Dr Ahmed has showed me nothing but care and compassion and he has listened.
I was actually thinking about moving hospitals to have my baby but after my experience with Dr Ahmed, being on the ball and taking ownership of my case rather than passing the book, and the lovely treatment from Christopher and Louise it has changed the way I now look at the hospital, and it’s nice to think that there are still people out there that truly care about their patients.
Thank you
