"Excellent care for my poorly boy"

About: St John's Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a service user),

We had a very poorly 2 year old boy who woke up very wheezy and upset. Struggling to breathe normally.

A call to the GP, number 17 in the queue. I thought... this isn't going to go well. However after a short wait we had an appointment with a nurse at 0930. This resulted in a prompt referral to the Children's ward at St John's.

Great facility and staff. We were lucky it was quiet but we had a really great stay. An overnight, a good sleep, great care (for both parent and child) and we were ready to go the next morning.

Thanks to everyone.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback for our service.

I know that it is a difficult and worrying time when our children are unwell and I am pleased to hear that your assessment and referral to the correct service was efficient and caused no unnecessary delay.

In particular, for myself, It is very reassuring, not only that you felt your child received great care but that you also were given support from staff.

I am glad your stay in hospital was short and a swift recovery was made.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, I will be happy to share this with the team.
