I was admitted to Stracathro Surgery unit recently as a day case patient for a Laprascopic Cholecystectomy. I was very impressed by the set up within the surgical unit from admission to discharge. All the staff were lovely and the care I received was of an exceptionally high standard.
My preoperative journey went smoothly & I have no doubt this was down to the professionals, who not only work in the ward, but also the staff who work within the theatres at Stracathro, please pass on my thanks to all the theatre staff.
I was fully informed at all times of what was happening by the nursing staff in the ward & at no point made to feel that they were in a hurry for me to leave post surgery.
This was a relief, as “day case” suggests - in & out as quickly as possible! This was certainly not the case where I was concerned, nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff within the ward & I was very appreciative of that & thanks to all.
The ANP (Lesley) was great too & when she saw I wasn’t too comfortable on the trolley, quickly suggested that I was moved to a bed! This made all the difference 😊
As I’ve already said everyone was fantastic but a special shout out to Emma (staff nurse) you were so lovely, professional & caring. Looking after nurses can be tricky 😅 & I hope I wasn’t too much of a nightmare!
Simply put a great department, with lovely staff.
