My daughter when she was 14 months old was seen by a paediatrician at NHS Ayrshire and Arran for a lump above her lip. We were told after seeing the paediatrics doctor that she would need to be referred to Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery’ for them to review her. It’s now 10 months on with the lump increasing in size and no review has been undertaken.
I complained to the Health Board about this. However, I’ve got nowhere and been told she is still in the queue to be seen. I asked the local GP surgery if they could do anything but said no as the hospital referral has already been made.
How can it be in 2024 that it's seemingly fine to leave a 2 year old girl on the waiting list for so long with a lump that is getting bigger and will do nothing to review her.
"Long waiting list"
