"We could not have felt safer or more supported"

About: Emergency Department / Minor Injuries

(as a parent/guardian),

The care and attention my son received during his visit to the Minor Injuries Unit at University Hospital Wishaw was fantastic.

Busy staff could not have been more helpful - keeping us informed at every stage and ensuring he was comfortable.

We were in the Unit longer than anticipated (9am til 6pm) as what we thought was a minor injury turned out to be more serious. During that time my son had a few checks and examinations, an x-ray and an MRI scan including all the results.

The staff are to be commended for their compassion and patient care - we could not have felt safer or more supported.

When we left, after what we thought was a tiring day, the staff still had 3hrs of their shift to work - still there reassuring people; comforting them and making them laugh - just incredible!

Thank you for looking after my son.  I cannot speak more highly of you all or thank you enough.

Dear Jane G,

Firstly, I’m sorry to hear that you and your son required to attend MIU in UHW recently.

As a team it’s really refreshing and positively reassuring to be given such positive feedback as we pride ourselves on being approachable, professional and committed all while trying to enjoy our interaction with patients.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review.

I hope your son is well on the road to recovery.

Best wishes

Caroline
