"Made me feel comfortable and happy to discuss my issues"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

I haven't always worried excessively, however after my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes I found that my worry and stress levels were hard to control. I started spiralling with worry over different things, sometimes about her but also about everyday problems like work and the rest of my family. I found it hard to concentrate when I started to worry and it would often take over my thoughts in the day.

I started talking therapy with Hassy and he made me feel comfortable and happy to discuss my issues. We worked through various techniques to help me learn to control my worry such as worry time but also techniques to refocus when I did start to worry. Understanding the different types of worry and how to manage them was so easy once I got started and I cannot believe how quickly and easily I was able to regain control. I found using the techniques gave me back time in the day to actually do things for me and also I became more organised.
