"Leaving appointments feeling like there is no help available"

About: Fife Community Services / Childrens and Adolescence Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

(as a parent/guardian),

My child has been registered with CAMHS for several years now and has been diagnosed with autism (despite the fact CAMHS had said there was no signs of autism, she was then diagnosed a few years later). ADHD assessment now also waiting to be done again after I had to complain.  CAMHS staff we saw suggested u couldn't have depression and adhd at the same time; what an extremely concerning statement to make as evidence shows people with adhd are more likely to suffer from depression.

My daughter has never had a consistent worker and is now on her 4th  and decided she now no longer wants to attend as she said they offer no help except ask how things have been, which she feels is no help whatsoever. After 3 years of no productive support I understand why she feels this way and she's concerned because after these appointments her self harming increases due to leaving the appointments feeling like there is no help available for her.

Dear Mama tisms

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. We are sorry to hear that you feel you have been left with no help. We would like you to get in touch with us to discuss your experience and think about any learning that we can take from this. We would also like to think about any supports that might be available for your child at this time. If you feel able, please reach out to CAMHS on 01334 696250.

Kind Regards,

Rebecca
