"Staff attitudes"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Outpatients

(as a service user),

I attend FVRH today for a appointment- when trying to park my car in the patient car park I was greeted by a security guard with a rude attitude - asking questions as to why I was parking there, what area I was attending and even asked to see my appointment letter! Feel this was unnecessary.

The staff at said appointment on the other hand were so friendly and helpful and really helped to ease my worries.

Dear lydia teapot

Thank you for sharing with us your experience when attending the hospital for an appointment.

Unfortunately due to the difficulties we are experiencing within our car parks with inappropriate and inconsiderate parking, and following the NHS Car Parking Policy steps have been put in place to reduce this particularly in our Visitor Car Park.

You will understand how difficult this is to manage and our Security Team are endeavouring to ensure there is suitable parking available for our patients and visitors when they arrive at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. Our team are asking people on entering the car park why they are there, particularly in the morning when staff are arriving to start their day, it is not meant to be intrusive and I apologise if on this occasion the staff member came across that way. Our staff are being directed to park in the staff parking and the purple car parks, and we are hoping this is alleviating the difficulties in the Visitors Care Park.

I hope this is helpful and provides you with an understanding of the challenges we are facing and the steps we are putting in place with regard to car parking.

Kind Regards

Caroline
