About: Montague Medical Practice

I visited my G P yesterday,,was treated by practitioner,,she diagnosed my eye problem, this particular practitioner who I have seen a few times ,,listens, asks questions and she is very kind,,and is very well liked,,by other patients I have spoken to.Generally this is a good practice,,but I started ringing for an appointment at 8am and got through at 8.30 am with my phone being on redial constantly,I know there are many people trying to get an appointment with probably more important cases than mine,,but surely there is another system or more phones manned,,the receptionists must get some angry people and take some stick,,and it's not their fault people can't get an appointment it's the whole system. The receptionists try their best especially when the patients cannot speak very good English.

Dear Ann. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. As you will know our telephone lines are extremely busy from 8.00am in a morning. We do have adequate numbers of staff answering the telephones and the reception staff answer the phones as quickly as they can. However, this can sometimes lead to a delay in getting through to the practice. If the reason for you contacting the surgery is not urgent, we are able to offer you a pre-booked appointment with a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner, and we have appointments available on weekends too. You can also submit an enquiry through the practice website which we will respond to. Thank you, Amanda, Practice Manager.
