Called in to my local GP Practice - Townhead Practice, Links Health Centre Montrose, with a skin complaint which had appeared overnight.
Reception staff very helpful and arrangements made to see nurse in next 20 minutes.
15 minutes later, seen by Heather (Nurse), who immediately thought it was Shingles, so she called the Duty Doctor.
I was then seen by Doctor McKay, who confirmed diagnosis of Shingles.
As this was on my head and heading down towards my right eye, Doctor McKay phoned the on-call eye specialist at Ninewells Hospital.
No need to go to Hospital.
Medication prescribed which was promptly picked up from my local pharmacy - Davidsons in Montrose.
All of the above was completed within 1 hour.
Throughout all of this relatively short process, everyone involved, especially Dr McKay and Nurse Heather were first class.
They were caring and attentive, covering everything required.
I am now well on the mend.
My sincere thanks go to everyone at Townhead Practice and Davidsons Chemist, Montrose.
"Excellent care"
