"Our time at acorn ward"

About: Paediatrics / Acorn Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was only home for 36 hours after a 3 day stay in fern ward after needing some antibiotics. He then became poorly again so we came to A&E and then acorn ward when he was 5 days old.

All the staff from the cleaning staff, catering staff, hca’s, Nursers and drs were all so amazing, they were supporting, offering tea and meals for myself and showing endless care and compassion for getting him better.

Any of my concerns were dealt with and taken seriously and I felt listened to and heard as a very new first time mum. It has been a very scary experience but it was made easier by all the lovely people who helped us.

HI guidetw49

Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us about your recent stay on the Children's Unit at a really busy time in your lives, I hope you are all settling well at home and your son is continuing to get better.

We are extremely lucky to have the most amazing team here on the Unit. I'm so pleased that you all felt so well cared for and supported as new mum with a very new baby.

I will pass your lovely comments across to the whole team here on Paediatrics.

Thank you once again for taking the time to write to us, enjoy being at home with your little boy.

Kind regards

Ang Giles
