"Poor standards"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary

Dirty and disgusting, from just walking in your suffocated by people smoking outside the a n e department. Waiting area over crowded with people waiting to be seen . How do they expect people who are extremely poorly to stand in the adult waiting area when there is no more chairs. Need to bring back the entrance triage like they did in Covid so patients who need to be seen urgently get the right care needed .

Hi my name is Catherine and part of my role is responding to posts on Care Opinion.

I am very sorry to hear of the issues you experienced on attendance at Accident & Emergency.

This is not the service we aim to provide.

Smoking within hospital grounds is not permitted and notices are clearly visible outside all entrances.

The waiting areas can be very busy and I am sorry there was no seating available when you attended.

I would encourage you to contact our Patient Experience Service (PALS) on 01274 364810 or by emailing patient.experience@bthft.nhs.uk. They will then be able to look into this for you.

Thank you for raising your concerns.

As a Trust we strive to provide a high level of care and patient well being and value all feedback, positive or negative, as a way to drive improvements to our services.

Kind regards

Catherine Healy
