"The compassion the staff showed us was amazing"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Infectious Diseases Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My dad became unwell on a Thursday late in June. I phoned the ambulance service who arrived really quickly .

He was admitted to a&e where the care he got from the nurses and doctors was exceptional I can’t remember any names sorry .

He was admitted to ward 111 myself and my mum went with him we were offered a bed but declined as I think we were both past sleep. The care my dad got from all in 111 was exceptional my mum and myself as well they came constantly asking how we were endless cups of tea. We were  offered a bed on the Friday night which we took them up on .

Sadly my dad passed away in the early morning of Saturday the compassion the staff showed us as a family was amazing we cannot thank you all enough from the paramedics to all the nurses and doctors thank you once again

Dear Hays,

Firstly, please accept my sincerest condolences for the sad loss of your father. I cannot begin to imagine how difficult a time this must have been, and continues to be for you all. Thank you however, for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and your fathers name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
