What I liked
The hospital is very near to my home. The antenatal SHO I have seen most recently is particularly helpful and person-centred.
What could be improved
Waiting times and continuity of care are in need of review in the antenatal clinic. On at least two occasions I have waited for over an hour for an appointment and have never seen the same midwife or consultant (SHO) twice. The waiting room is tired and there are no signs on the doors distinguishing the different roles of the people seen. There is no air conditioning and it is unpleasant when heavily pregnant to sit in such warm a stifling conditions. Staff are often busy and I have often felt like I am just a number on a conveyor belt system. Mistakes have been made in my care which, while not life threatening so far have served to raise concerns about the care I will receive at the birth of my first child.
