"My husbands brain tumour and treatment"

About: Belfast City Hospital / General Surgery South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust / Community Specialist Palliative Care Team

(as a relative),

My husband was diagnosed with a grade 4 brain tumour, totally out of the blue. His neurosurgeon at Belfast Hospital was amazing, he explained all of the processes and after surgery he was home within two days.

We have had district nurses and physios visit us and I have to say they have been amazing. The kindness and help from everyone were just what we needed and Amy (physio) has given my husband so much confidence. I can’t say enough about the amazing treatment he has had.

Dear L Forever,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience of the care you have received from the Community Palliative Care team in SEHSCT in what must be a very busy and difficult time for you, your husband and your families. I am delighted that Amy has been able to give your husband confidence with her input. I will pass on your kind words to Amy and the rest of the team.

Please be assured of our continued support for you all throughout this time.

Kind Regards,

Bernie

Dear L Forever

Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to communicate with us through Care Opinion. This is a really useful tool for us to share experiences and learning with patients so that we can hear about your treatment and care and hopefully continue to strive to provide the best possible care that we can.

First of all can I apologise in the delay in replying to you. I am delighted to learn that your husband continues to recover well following his brain surgery. I shall certainly pass on your appreciation and thanks to the neurosurgeon here at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

It is also very encouraging to hear that your husband is receiving continuing care in the community with physios and nurses.

Finally, I would like to wish your husband a full recovery and once again thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

Take Care & Best Wishes

Una Delargy
