"Lack of empathy from the receptionist"

About: Ragstone Road Surgery

On July 8 I rang the GP to get clarity on my repeat prescription which I been getting since from Ragstone since 2021.the lady on the line told me there was nothing on the repeat prescription under my name, however I tried to explain that I even got a call on Monday to go from someone from the GP to let me know my prescription would be at the pharmacy the next day, the lady on the phone said we don't phone people over prescription, I then asked what should I do, she said to me phone back tomorrow at 8am to book an appointment with the GP, at exactly 8am on the 9th of July I rang the GP and was on number 9,i was on the line from 8am to 9am when I eventually got to number one, I explained my situation to the same last and she told me I was late to get an appointment as I should have phoned at 8am , I tried to explain I phoned at exactly 8am and had been on the line up until 9am when she picked the line, the lady hung up on me.

Honest to God is this what we do in public offices, taking patients for granted like that..

Dear patient . I am sorry to hear you had a problem with a prescription. Normally prescription requests are managed through email to ensure no errors . Reception staff are not permitted to take requests over the phone . If yuo would like to make contact with me either by phone or via our email . I will try and help you as you have posted this anonymously. It will also allow me to use the phone recordings as a learning exercise to maintain staff training and aware ness. Thankyou Mrs Diane Parrott Lead Practice Manager
