"The staff were friendly, and treated me as an equal"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

(as a service user),

Had two teeth out, one of which was broken, and came out in little pieces.  I hardly felt a thing, except for a couple of times when injecting the local anaesthetic.  Music was offered, and because they found one of my favourite singers, I found that I was concentrating on that rather than any discomfort I might have experienced during the extractions.  My comfort seemed to be their priority throughout the procedure.  The staff were friendly, and treated me as an equal, never talking down to me or patronising me.  As much as having tooth extractions can be, a thoroughly pleasant experience.
