"Good & bad"

About: Cameron Hospital / Recovery & rehabilitation

(as a relative),

I have a relative in Balcurvie ward Leven and noticed the care of two other patients I felt not up to standard. One poor older person was screaming ‘help’ to which no one answered their calls. Another patient who was trying to get out of bed was told they could not and were told they had slept all day and that was their fault and now it was bed time (it was 7pm) so they weren’t getting them out of their bed now to sit in the chair. Telling them to lie down. It was very unsettling.

Two weeks later I witness a much more pleasant experience. Again visiting my relative, the man on shift was upbeat, happy, attending to all patients on the ward making sure they were comfortable. My faith was restored on the ward after witnessing him and another lady caring for the patients on this ward.

Dear Jessford,

Thank you for your care opinion comments.

I am sorry you felt your first experience when visiting Balcurvie ward was not a positive one. Balcurvie Ward strives to ensure the patient has the best journey possible and I have shared your concerns with the team for reflection.

I have also shared the good experience and how it portrayed the kind and caring manner I expect from all the team.

I would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss this matter further.

Lynne Christie
