I went into QEUH after being sent from the Out of Hours GP in New Victoria (fabulous service as well), after being advised I had a quinsy on the left side of my throat. The pain was unbearable and I was in tears. I wasn’t able to intake any food as it felt like swallowing glass.
In ENT I was tended by doctors Stavros and Luke and a lovely nurse who I believe was called Laura. I can’t thank them enough for the amazing work they did for me. After visiting a different A&E the day before with no help or solution, QEUH was the most positive experience I’ve had with the healthcare system.
They offered me effervescent painkillers while I had to wait for around 2 hours which helped massively with the pain. They very kindly kept checking on me while tending to other patients. When Luke was finally ready to get me in for a checkup, he explained everything extremely well to me, advised of the best treatment options and was very friendly and kind.
I was then helped by Laura which was the sweetest nurse I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. She was making me laugh and smile through the pain and even gave me more food as soon as she saw I could intake anything.
I can’t thank the ENT team enough, from the reception to the nurses to the doctors, everyone made me feel very safe and comfortable. I feel better after all the treatments I was given and I was advised to come straight back to them if anything worsens.
"Everyone made me feel very safe and comfortable"
