"The care I received was outstanding"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Cardiology Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiology & Coronary Care Unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Ambulance Control Centre Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I had chest pain radiating down my left arm, my wife dialled 999.

She was advised someone would call her back. They called back 15-20 mins later. They advised they would send an ambulance out. The ambulance arrived within 15 mins.

I was quickly assessed by the paramedics and they sent all my results to Edinburgh royal. The decision was then made to transfer me straight to Edinburgh Royal infirmary by blue light ambulance. I can’t thank the paramedics enough for their prompt treatment, reassurance and care of myself and my wife on the transfer through.

I had a stent fitted as soon as I arrived and was transferred to ward 114. I was kept there for 24hrs for close monitoring until I was able to be transferred to FVRH.

I was transferred to the Cardiology ward at FVRH. The care I received there from all members of staff, including housekeepers, domestics, doctors and nursing staff was outstanding. I can’t thank you enough for your care.

Good Morning Bob102,

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to you and your STEMI, that sounds terrifying. I do hope that you are feeling a lot better. Thank you so much for your kinds words about all the staff involved in your journey through the system. It is great to hear positive stories about the work our wonderful staff provide.

If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and of course your name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up. If you do decide to do this, would you be so kind as to make reference to your CareOpinion username so that the team can easily locate your story and share it with the crew.

I wish you all the very best and thanks again.

Kind Regards

Alan
