Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on care opinion.

The Hospital has created an Internal Working Instruction (IWI) that is now live to address this issue.

Patients assessed as being able to self-administer certain medications, including inhalers, will be able to access off ward activities without the need of a Qualified Nurse. Patients will be provided with their own secure pouch containing Salbutamol inhaler/GTN spray if prescribed following a risk assessment by the MDT.

I hope this has resolved your concerns raised.

Take care

Harriet
