"Care provided by staff following heart attack"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Golden Jubilee National Hospital / Cardiac Surgery New Stobhill Hospital / Cardiac Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

In March 2023 I attended the Glasgow Royal Infirmary due to experiencing pain in my chest.

I was seen to very quickly and it transpired that I was having a heart attack and was thereafter conveyed to the Golden Jubilee in Clydebank.

At the Jubilee I was operated on and had a stent fitted.

I remained at the Jubilee, after which I was discharged following an MRI scan.

The care provided during my time at the GRI and Jubilee was excellent with the Doctors and Nurses being very helpful and answering any questions that my family and I had.

I was advised that I would be undergoing cardiac rehab at Stobhill Hospital upon my discharge and any queries could be made to my GP who would have access to my details including the result of the MRI scan.

Upon completion of the rehab sessions I returned to work however was assessed not fit to return to full duties by the Occupational Health Team.

I have been informed that a request for a medical report from staff at the Golden Jubilee remains outstanding.

I was further informed that a medical report was provided on the first request however this did not contain any readings (results of MRI, bloods, ECG, troponin etc).

Following this the Occupational Health Team have not had any response to their following requests for a medical report with readings.

I have also contacted my GP however they have advised me that they have not received any results for the MRI scan nor did they have any readings on file.

As such the Occupational Health Team cannot and will not make a decision to allow me to return to my full duties.

I was hoping for advice on how to obtain the medical report in order for a decision to be made by the Occupational Health Team.

Thank you for your help and advice in this matter.
