"Robot assisted surgery"

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and was looked after by Dr Ragupathy and her team who were all great. Dr Ragupathy was excellent and explained thoroughly my options, and due to having a previous cancer operation and radical radiotherapy in my pelvic area, she explained that surgery was more complicated and came with higher risks but said she could perform the surgery - a total hysterectomy - by robot assisted surgery at Ninewells hospital, Dundee. 

Dr Ragupathy explained that if it were not for the robot assisted surgery, she would be unable to offer any surgery due to the complexities and risks involved. 

Dr Ragupathy performed a total hysterectomy by robot assisted surgery without any complications, and I was discharged from hospital the next day. The only pain killers I needed were paracetamol for a few days.

I am amazed at the outcome and am grateful to Dr Ragupathy and her team and I am aware that without the robot assistance, this operation would not have been able to happen and this would be a very different story. Forever grateful.
