"A first class service for a frightening experience"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department The Ulster Hospital / Theatres / Recovery The Ulster Hospital / Ward 3C

(as a service user),

I attended the emergency department with severe stomach pain. After a long wait in the department, I was moved onto ward 3c as it had been discovered that my appendix had burst.

I needed to have emergency surgery. This was a frightening experience but I was made to feel at ease by the amazing staff both on the ward, in theatre and recovery.  The whole staff team that treated me, did so with compassion, and treated me with genuine concern and care.  A first class service for a frightening experience! Nurse Jenny in 3c went above and beyond her role and always had a smile whilst doing so. Amazing nurse!

Good morning KarysT

Thank you so much for taking the time to submit your compliment to the staff in the ward, theatre and recovery. I will ensure that it shared with the teams. I do hope you are recovering well and making good progress.

Morning KarysT

Thank you for telling us of your experience when attending the Ulster Hospital and Emergency Department. I apologise for the long wait in ED and would like to reassure you that we are continually working together with all the teams across the hospital to improve flow from the front door.

I hope you are recovering well following your surgery and the frightening experience for you.

Kind regards

Jenny

ED Lead Nurse
