"Emergency care at A&E"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Accident and emergency Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Medical Imaging

(as a service user),

I experienced sudden onset pain and neurological leg symptoms, which as a doctor, I knew could potentially need emergency treatment. Prompt diagnosis would only be available in hospital.

I therefore presented to A&E early in the morning of 6th June. Despite an inevitably long wait for procedures, I was treated with kindness and respect by all A&E staff, from reception through to radiology.

The conduct of staff was a fine balance of empathy and professionalism, especially from Dr Piper, a doctor who is early in her career. Thankfully, the outcome was a relatively straightforward problem, but I am very grateful for the care I received, and everyone involved definately deserves an "official: thank you.
