"Lack of care compassion and manners"

About: Portstewart Medical Centre

(as a service user),

The current climate is so challenging. I recently had to continually call my GP for 15 min I finally got through to then be put on hold for half an hr.  I listened then to  the message stating zero tolerance to abuse only to be met with rudeness

I appreciate that everyone is under pressure however the manner in which I was spoken to was unacceptable and quite frankly rude

I then had to call at the surgery . The staff member was on a call so I patiently waited till they had finished their call. I was shocked to be addressed as with yes? - to which I responded good morning

Again signs up regarding zero tolerance to abuse and that you would be asked to leave and the police called

What way is that to address anyone let alone a member of the public.  How can anyone in a so called caring profession greet anyone this way I felt it to be rude, disrespectful and uncaring

I explained that I was asked to leave something, to which they responded by asking if I was on the phone earlier?

I mean what way is that to speak to anyone

I feel this team need to go on a course for dealing with the public and how to meet and greet.

The surgery reception area is never busy however you never can get an appointment.

The GPs are always changing which leads me to believe there is a problem recruiting and retaining.

What has happened to caring and having compassion? No one knows what someone is dealing with personally and a little smile, a kind word or even a polite greeting such as, good morning my name is .. how can I help you? is what should have been said.

Frustrated , disappointed.

Should be a better service.
