I was recently admitted to Hairmyers Hospital for a full hip replacement. I'd waited for quite a long time for my surgery, but I realise that this is a systemic problem and not the fault of Hairmyers.
From the point of admission, I felt safe and well cared for. All the nursing staff were very kind and thoughtful. When I finally went for my procedure, I experienced nothing but professionalism and first-class care; the anaesthetic team took time to put me at ease, before transferring me through to the surgeon, Mr Cunningham.
My post-operative care was kind, patient and reassuring; the nursing, physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff took time to make sure that I was comfortable and ready to begin the recovery process.
Even after being discharged, I had follow-up telephone calls from ERAS nurses which helped to reassure both my wife and I that things were progressing as they should.
Overall, we'd like to acknowledge the quality of care I received throughout my contact with the hospital; it was always thoughtful, kind and compassionate.
"Always thoughtful, kind and compassionate"
