"First Class Care and Treatment"

About: Derriford Hospital

On Tuesday 18 June I had a Colonoscopy. Home preparation was disturbing, and entering the procedure suite was filled with such fear and trepidation. However, I can’t find enough praise for the entire staff who cared for me. The Reception Nurses, the Procedure Nurses and the Doctors and Surgeon ….. they were all so caring, so professional and utterly dedicated. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. (I have a list of individuals names, but I understand I am not permitted to mention them here).

The result of the procedure was ‘positive’, I was overjoyed, But it was heart warming to hear the happy relief from the staff as well.

Sincere regards, Geneviève Walker.

Dear Mrs Walker,

It is always lovely to hear that our patients' experience of Endoscopy was positive even though as you say it can be a procedure that patients are very nervous about having done.

As the Quality Manager for the Endoscopy Unit I am keen to let staff know when they have been praised and would be delighted to know the names of the staff members that were with you through your journey so that I can pass this back to them personally.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.

I can be contacted by e-mail or telephone as below.

Kind regards

Dawn Gargett
