Anything else?
I was referred by my dentist as an NHS patient at the end of last year for the removal of the roots of a wisdom tooth. I recieved an appointment very quickly and was seen by the consultant for a consultation which was fine. I had an x-ray taken, The x-ray was lost on the computer system but I know these things happen and another one was taken. A few weeks later I recieved an appointment to have the tooth removed.Unfortunately I had to cancel the appointment because of a trip I could not pull out of that was already booked. I was told I would go back on the waiting list. I rang up around April this year and was told I was still on the waiting list and to await another appointment. I rang up today to find out when I would be seen only to be told I was no longer on the waiting list because I had "declined treatment" at the end of last year and another referral would need to be done. I was upset because a year had passed in which I was under the impression I was still on this waiting list. I had never recieved any communication from the hospital that I had been removed from the waiting list because I had declined treatment. My dentist asked me a few weeks ago when I was going to be seen for the removal of this tooth and I said as far as I knew I was still on the waiting list. He had not been sent a letter discharging me from the hospital. As I explained to the person I spoke to on the phone I'm not psychic. She said things like "It is our word against yours" and "your dentist should know we have a twelve week waiting list". I have come across this problem of poor communication and one hand not knowing what the other is doing so many times with health care in this country.
"Organisation not good"
