Good afternoon, I have been asked to give feedback regarding my two visits. The first was for a two-week referral. I got to see the specialist an hour and a half after my appointment time, who apologised profusely, then showed that there was a glitch with the system. On the computer it stated that I was 2nd on the list, but on his paperwork it showed that he had an hour's break. There was another woman waiting for her appointment too, with no appearance of my name on the sheet. The Dr was lovely and was an asset to the ward.
I then received a letter on a Saturday offering an appointment for the Monday stating I had a high-grade dyskariosis and would need a colposcopy. Upon meeting the consultant in the treatment room, I produced the letter with my prognosis. They asked to see the letter as I had not been given a smear and a mistake had occurred. I totally understand we all make errors, but had been asked to write my opinion about the events . This letter had caused me anxiety over the weekend with having been given this wrong diagnosis.
Miss Harper was wonderful, professional and obviously wanting the best for her colleagues and clients alike. I came away very happy with my diagnosis. The staff were empathetic, caring and friendly, but quite rightly I would not like this to happen again!
Best wishes.
