"Appointment at the Fracture Clinic"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My partner had an appointment booked for 8:30am but was not seen until 10am. It's absolutely awful that nurses are dealing with the brunt of patients' complaints because the consultants don't turn up on time!

This is what happened at this appointment. The consultant did not turn up to their own clinic on time. The nurse kindly informed me this was the reason for the long wait and was very apologetic. This isn't a one off, and they said it was a regular occurrence. It's not fair to the nurses, and it certainly isn't fair on the patients.

The waiting room was absolutely busting at the seams by the time we left. The nurses look to be at the end of their tether! I feel the consultants should be held accountable for being late.

Also, why is my time less valuable than theirs? I ended up being unable to return to work because the consultant did not arrive on time to do their job!
