I attended the Early Pregnancy unit in Royal Maternity Belfast a few weeks ago due to miscarriage. It was a horrible experience but the staff there made it more manageable.
Catherine was our main midwife. She was patient, sensitive and highly knowledgeable. She gave us the time and care we needed to process what had happened. The midwife working alongside her was also lovely and had seen me a few nights before in their emergency service. A third midwife (i think her name was Beth) was present the morning I went in to see if I needed a procedure and once again she really took the time to answers questions and to listen to us. She was so informative and it really helped us to get through. After a negative experience following a previous miscarriage (in the Southern Trust), I cannot express how much difference it makes when staff are kind and understanding.
