"I just want to get my life back on track"

About: Borders General Hospital / Dermatology

(as a service user),

GP attempted to refer me to dermatology in October 2021 but was unable to as dermatology weren't accepting referrals. This continued for another 2 years until October 2023 when I was finally able to get a referral.

Since then, I've heard absolutely nothing, my GP has confirmed that a referral has been made but can't tell me anything else. I must commend my GP for providing as much care as she can while I wait though, even if the treatments available from her aren't working that well.

So far 2 years and 8 months waiting to be seen for psoriasis that affects high-impact areas, causes pain, limits what I can do, isn't controlled well by the treatments my GP can provide and keeps getting worse as time goes on.

Judging by the waiting times report I have another 16 months to wait (possibly more!). 4+ years to be seen, if at all. I just want to get my life back on track and this is a major hold-up.
