"Not fit for purpose "

About: Guy's Hospital

On Saturday 22 June the pharmacy was opened at 9.15am with the person with the keys to open arriving 15 minutes late. He saw over 8 people already waiting outside door and there was no explanation or apology for being late.

However what was more concerning was what followed next. The best way to describe the experience was shocking and very embarrassing to have such a disorganised team working here. Unprofessionally dressed, no name badges, rude manner of addressing people, no organised system of handing in prisciption or collection, breach of so many aspect of GDPR, asking private medical question in an open area where other people can hear of other people's medications and most of all the wait time with over 18 people waiting in just 20 minutes of the pharmacy being opened. Then in my case, it took almost 15 minutes to look for an already pre ready priscription ordered 48 hours ago but could not be found easily as my medication was piled in the wrong box/cupboard. It took three memebr of the team from the total of 5 me.eber of the team on duty on the day, to find it.

My questions is how was the contract given to Boots, what measures and conditions were in place, how is it acceptable to allow a pharmacy to provide such a disagrsful and u professional service here? Why does the NHS management team responsible overseeing the pharmacy service here at the Hospital not accountable? Why do us, the public who have no choice but to use the services of the pharmacy at the Hospital have to go through such unacceptable poor services not to mention all the risks associated with having such a poor disorganised service? It will not be a surprise when there will be a breach of serious nature when putting people's life at risk with a pharmacy dispenser has not followed correct procedures processing prescriptions or handing out priscription medications to people.
