"I am so glad our NHS has got this service for women"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Gynaecology (Ward 13)

(as the patient),

I was nervous and anxious going to my appointment. I am going through the menopause and have been struggling daily with all the symptoms. The practice nurse at my Doctors Surgery could see I was worried and anxious regarding my symptoms I was experiencing. The nurse referred myself to Doctor Nash at University Hospital Wishaw Womens Health Clinic.

I was weepy and anxious in the morning at the thought of going and nearly didn't go. I am so glad I plucked up the courage to attend my appointment as the Dr and the team were fantastic. Doctor Nash spoke with myself regarding the symptoms I was experiencing.

I then went into another room for an examination. Both nurses could see I was anxious and weepy. They held my hand and explained everything to me. Doctor Nash and the Nurses Fran and Julie spoke to me throughout the procedure which put me at ease. I am so grateful for the service and wouldn't hesitate to go back if I need to in the future.

I am so glad our NHS has got this service for women.

Dear neptune.xc54,

Thank you for sharing your experience with University Hospital Wishaw, Gynaecology.

I understand why you would be nervous and anxious attending your appointment, going to a hospital appointment is a worrying time for anyone. I am so pleased to hear that Dr Nash, Fran and Julie have really went above and beyond to recognise you were nervous and upset and to support and comfort you during the appointment and examination. It must have been very reassuring for you.

I look forward to passing on your kind words to Fran, Julie and Dr Nash who will be delighted to hear the impact of their care on your experience.

I hope you are keeping well.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
