I was sceptical about having another so called professional in my house who I felt would judge me and my son.
This was way off ! from the first meeting with Nicola, autism sensory disorder early years worker, my son took to her straight away she was on the floor interacting and playing with him and his train set while chatting to me about his issues she was patient and took her time getting to know us and giving us support and strategies to use at home when his issues became overwhelming for us as a family, she never left his sister out when they were playing and the children are always asking when she is coming back.
Nicola also supported me by attending a parent group I was worried about going into myself where I have met new friends who have children that have similar issues it’s great to not feel so alone I’d never have had the courage to attend on my own.
