"I really felt he listened and cared"

About: Borders General Practices

(as a service user),

I had an appointment with Dr McIntosh regarding my daughter. I recently got a diagnosis of ADHD in my 50s. I have noticed similar traits in my daughter and have went to teachers and school nurses,  asked for a referral to CAMHS, and felt completely fobbed off.  I felt no one was  interested. Dr McIntosh was interested. He sat and listened to us both about our concerns.  He explained things to my daughter,  and she opened up to him. I felt I finally have got somewhere.

Dear Bunbun

Thank you for sharing such positive feedback about Dr McIntosh following a recent appointment that you and your daughter had with him.

It is lovely to hear that you both have been listened to and that your daughter was able to open up to him which I am sure is not something that would have been easy for either of you to do.

I hope your daughter now has access to the further support she needs.

I will ensure your feedback is shared with Dr McIntosh directly.

Best wishes

Karen
