What a wonderful service the paramedics and hospital at home team provided to an elderly friend.

She had become unwell with chest pain but due to her age and reluctance to prolong life did not want to go to the hospital with the paramedics, they showed amazing compassion and listened carefully to her wishes prior to referring her to the hospital at home team. 

This was quickly followed by a visit from ANP Megan and support worker Jackie from H@H, both of whom took time to listen to the thoughts and views of a patient who was frightened.

All 4 of the staff are a credit to the NHS, a huge thank you from the patient, her friends and her family.

Many thanks for taking the time to share your feedback here on CareOpinion. I am so sorry to read about what happened to your friend, they must have been very scared. Situations like these require empathy, kindness and the willingness as you say to listen and respect ones wishes and it sounds like the ambulance crew and our partners in the wider NHS did just that - what a credit. I am very grateful for you sharing this story. If you wish I can pass on the feedback to the crews directly. To do so we would need to know the date, time and address that the Ambulance attended and the patients name. This information can be sent to sas.feedback@nhs.scot for the team to pick up.
