About: Victoria Hospital / Intensive Care Unit

(as a relative),

My Dad was taken into The Victoria Hospital ICU dept Kirkcaldy recently. The team on hand that day and the day after were incredible. Such comfort was given to us at a time that was so heartbreaking and difficult. I'm so sorry I cannot remember the names of the nurses, consultants and carers that day now, but please can this be sent to them to know how wonderful they are and the care they gave to my dad but also myself, my mum and my sister. We will be forever grateful. Even though my dad didn't survive the sepsis he was surrounded by love not just from the family but by the ICU team too and went peacefully ❤️

My name is Siobhan McIlroy and I am the Head of Patient Experience. NHS Fife welcomes all feedback, so thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

I want to offer my condolences to you and your family during this extremely sad and difficult time. It is truly heartbreak to lose your father, it sounds as though he was so deeply loved and I am sure he will be missed so very much. I also wish to apologise for the delay in you receiving a response, I think summer holidays are having an impact on how quickly staff are responding.

I am sure the staff will be touched by your kind words and know they helped to give you and your family some comfort and to offer care, compassion, kindness and love to your Dad.
