"Staff attitude towards staff"

About: Victoria Hospital / Discharge Hub

(as the patient),

I was transferred from ward 43 to ward 10 which was a very busy ward. I was due to be discharged. The Discharge Coordinator was explaining my Discharge and reassuring me that my package of care was all set up for my return home. She also discussed my transport which I already had. She was very kind and was able to sit and chat with me which made me feel less anxious about going home.

I did notice however that some staff were rude to her; I found this to be very disrespectful as her job is just as important as theirs.

However I am pleased to say that all was well when I got home and my carers arrived not long after.

Thank you to the discharge coordinator for all your hard work that you do.

Good evening,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback relating to your recent hospital admission, and subsequent transfer to Ward 10 at the Victoria Hospital. I am very disappointed that you felt that the discharge coordinators role was not viewed in a positve manner by other staff, and would like to reassure you that I will discuss this with the team to ensure that there is an awareness about all staff roles in relation to patient care.

I am delighted to read your positive feedback about our Discharge Coordinator, and your feelings in relation to the time that she was able to spend with you to ensure that your discharge was supported seamlessly.

I hope that you are recovering well at home.

Regards, Lisa
