"A model of care"

I have recently made several visits to North Devon District hospital for the removal of a melanoma on my face and to investigate breathlessness which was found to be caused by a pulmonary embolism.

The Ophthalmology department were very efficient and kept me informed during the whole process which has resulted in an excellent recovery. I would like to thank Dr Ashdown who called me at 20.15 on the day of the stitches being removed to check on my condition.

The Cardiology department were the same as above and were efficient and again kept me informed at all times.

I had no long intervals between appointments and wish to tell you that in this time of continual criticism I found your service excellent. From car parking to treatment North Devon is a model of care and I thank you for such a well run facility for local people.
