I recently attended the Mid-Ulster Hospital in Magherafelt for a pre-arranged Colonoscopy. From arriving at the hospital until I was escorted back to the car, the service I received was exceptional.
After being directed to the Endoscopy Suite I was greeted by lovely staff. I was told to take a seat in the waiting area. I had only sat down a couple of minutes until a lovely nurse, Yasmine, came and took me into an Admission Room to complete paperwork and carry over observations. She then showed me to a bed in the bay.
I was then met by the Consultant Endoscopist, Leigh, who was carrying out the procedure. He explained the procedure in detail.
I was then wheeled into the procedure room and was greeted by lovely nurses Bonna, Rebekkah and again Mr Martin. When they were organized I was more than happy for them to proceed.
The procedure was bearable with sedation with very little discomfort. I was then taken into the Recovery Bay and monitored by nurses Yasmine and Nuala. I had no side effects from the sedation or the procedure.
I was escorted to the car by Yasmine. I would have no hesitation in having this procedure done again and I would strongly urge anyone who requires it to go ahead. Also taking the bowel prep before the procedure was fine.
