I got admitted to daisy hill elective today for some gynae work. I'm only in my early twenties and have anxiety and find hospitals difficult. The nurses were so patient with me, and Mel (I believe her name was) gave me a good laugh.
I woke up in pain and distressed, it was my first time under anaesthetic and I don’t remember much except one nurse in a scrub cap reassuring me and telling me that I was okay and safe.
The girls have been so attentive to me, one even holding my hand in theatre as I was going to sleep. I cannot praise these girls enough, I know how hard it is to work in the hospital but not once did they let their exhaustion, own stress and other tasks take over their genuine caring personalities.
"Amazing girls in elective and recovery."
