In February this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram at another breast unit in a different hospital. I asked to be referred to the Breast Unit at Addenbrookes for treatment and surgery.
I cannot thank the staff at the Breast Unit enough for their kindness, care and professionalism. This unit epitomises what the NHS should aspire to in all hospitals.
From the welcoming receptionists to the amazing consultant/surgeon who carried out my breast surgery as a day patient at Ely Hospital. All the staff I encountered made me feel that I mattered and I felt I received truly personalised and individualised care.
I am an anxious patient and I will always be grateful for the wonderful care which I received.
"Amazing professionals!"
