About: Burns Day Centre

(as a relative),

I couldn't speak highly enough about the Burns day centre in Irvine. What a wonderful service!

My mum lives alone and has been diagnosed with mild Alzheimer's. She can live independently at the moment and we as a family wish for this to continue as long as possible. Mum is a very sociable person who really enjoys spending time with others and chatting /having fun. Mum started attending the Burns day centre a couple of months ago and every week thereafter. She really looks forward to getting picked up and  spending her day at the Burns day centre. It is the highlight of her week. Knowing that my mum enjoys the centre and is being well looked after is a real relief for me and my siblings. I know resources can be tight but this is a life line for our family . 

All of the staff are wonderful, so caring...

The activities sound so stimulating for mum...she enjoys the variety.

Bet my mum wishes she could go more often but so lucky to get a day every week.

Firstly thank you for taking the time to share your experience and your kind words regarding Burns Day Service, its wonderful to hear!.

Day Services really is a vital service to so many and as you say this provides reassurance that your mum is in a safe, supportive environment where her needs are being met and that the staff are ensuring she is content and engaged which contributes positively to her overall wellbeing.
