"This is an absolutely wonderful place"

When I arrived here I was like in fear and trepidation about what was going to happen and what detox was.

The first day I didn't know what was going on but after three and four days I did start to feel better, a lot of my tremors had disappeared, I became more confident in the procedures, I know my dosages were pretty low which I was quite happy about. I felt that I had overcome a lot of my fears about being here.

So as far as the physical side of detox had worked for me, I'm still left with the mental side of things.

As far as [the detox centre is concerned, everyone has been so kind, always there for me, nurses and recovery workers, it's been like one big family. I have these fears now of going home on my own to my flat. It is a big fear for me because although I feel physically better I have all this in my head. 

I will be very sad to go although I know I have got to go, I have been told by everyone here that I will receive plenty of help on the outside. 

This is an absolutely wonderful place and I am so happy that my keyworker was pushing for this for such a long time. My keyworker Jodie has been brilliant and she has told me how proud of me she was. Thankyou everybody!
