"I received excellent care and attention"

About: Belfast City Hospital / Breast Surgery Laurel House Chemotherapy Unit Toome Surgery

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in summer 2023. Right from the moment of referral by my GP, Dr Watterson in Toome surgery, to Mr Whiteside, my surgeon and the whole team in Laurel House, I received excellent care and attention.

The treatment was fully explained and and time was taken to recap when I was overwhelmed and had not fully understood what I was being told. I can not single out individuals because they were each one so good including the receptionist.

My only concern is the extreme pressure the whole team is under. I witness staff going without lunch just to ensure continuity of patient treatment and their welfare. I got excellent care and I can never thank the team enough. Now, can I ask for government to please support and back our doctors and nurses. Where would we - I be without them. I salute you all. Thank you.
