"Considerate and professional and put my dignity first"

I was very nervous when I turned up to the clinic having heard stories about how painful a coil fitting can be.

My experience was quite different. Any appointments of this nature make you feel uncomfortable, embarrassed and a little vulnerable, but the nurse and doctor taking care of me were considerate and professional and put my dignity first.

The nurse put me at ease and the doctor was a very gentle soul.

Thankfully he used a local anaesthetic and that, combined with the painkillers I had taken in the morning, meant I felt only minimal discomfort and no real pain at all.

On the whole it was a very positive experience.
